The CalendarOur calendar was converted from the Julian Calendar to the Gregorian calendar on January 1, 1751. One that day we jumped to January, 1752. Previously, January was the 11th month of the year and March 24th was the last day from the year. New Year's Day was on March 25th. How does this affect Generalogy research? Occasionally one finds references to the tenth month, twelfth month, etc. in historical records. Prior to 1752, you'd have reference the Julian Calendar to ascertain the actual month.
